Watchcric on a TV: cast, mirror, or use the set's browser

Watchcric has no TV app. What it has is a match that already plays on the phone, and three ways to get that picture onto a television without installing anything on the set. Pick the one that matches the TV in the room.

1Cast or mirror from the phone

Android phone, to an Android TV, Google TV or Chromecast: open the match in Watchcric, pull down Quick Settings and tap Screen cast (Smart View on a Samsung), then pick the TV. The set shows the phone's screen; turn the phone sideways and tap the player's full-screen button.

iPhone, to an Apple TV or an AirPlay set: open Control Centre, tap Screen Mirroring, choose the TV, then open the match.

iPhone, to a Chromecast or Android TV: no built-in route; use the TV's browser (next) or a laptop (after that).

2The set's own browser: Fire TV, Samsung, LG

Fire TV: open Silk, the free browser from the apps row (search for it if it is not there), type app.watchcric.com, choose a match and press the player's full-screen button. The remote's ring moves the pointer and Select clicks.

Samsung: the Internet app. LG: the Web Browser app. Enter app.watchcric.com in either and pick a match.

Android TV and Google TV usually ship without a browser. One can be installed from the TV's Play Store, but casting from the phone is faster.

3A laptop on an HDMI lead: any TV

Connect a laptop to the set with an HDMI lead (a USB-C to HDMI adapter on a newer laptop), switch the TV to that input, open app.watchcric.com in any browser and press full screen. It works on every television with an HDMI socket and does not need the TV on Wi-Fi at all.

Questions

The cast picture stutters

Mirroring crosses the home Wi-Fi twice, to the phone and then to the TV. Move the phone closer to the router, or switch to the TV's browser or the HDMI lead, which cross it once or not at all.

The TV's browser loads the page but the player stays black

Wait a few seconds and press play once. If it stays black, that browser is too old for the player; cast from the phone or use a laptop.

Will a Watchcric TV app come?

None has been built. If one is, its download and install steps will be on this page, with allowing installs from unknown sources as the first step. Until then, the three ways above are the whole story.
